Thanks for the music. Favorite track: Inside The Rift.

TRiP86 Why does this album make me think that its some kind of bastard hybrid mix of Pink Floyd and Leonard Cohen?? (though it doesn't sound like either artist)
The album has some very heavy and dark vibes, with lyrics that take a look at the frailty and depravity of the human mind. Throw in a healthy sprinkling of desert to give a gritty texture that exposes itself the more you listen to it. Its grown on me enough I had to search down a vinyl copy.:)
Two thumbs up!! Favorite track: Witness Marks.

Lurr Another fantastic release from Mountain Dust. Although gloomier than ‘Nine Years’, this album still rocks hard, delivering plenty of soulful blues and powerful grooves. Favorite track: Seven Storms.

Seven Storms 03:46
Demon, praise you for the key you stole. You raised the rusted hatch to release my maker for all to behold. I say I’m alone but I got you. Seven storms and a shelter made out of thorns. Demon, praise you for yesterday’s swarms. I say I’m alone but I got you. Seven storms; storms stirring spears. Seven storms; thrown through the years. Oh, demon. Seven storms; frozen in fear. Oh, demon, I got you.

White Bluffs 03:35
White bluffs won’t ever let me leave. I am stranded in the sands that see no sun, Where stolen stones are arranged in the shape of the lowly. My heart won’t carry this load, It breaks yet it begs me for more in the end. In the end I’ve wasted everything I’ve had. White bluffs won’t ever let me let it go unknown in the sands that see no sun, Where borrowed bets are the only way to get ahead. There’s a hole where hell used to be, The crooks and the cutthroats dance in the end, Unharmed. My feet don’t move to no beat, They sink to the deep with my soul in the end. In the end I’ve wasted everything I’ve had, And it gets worse, It’s not the first time I’m pushed behind by my own red-stained hands. Burn my faith away but leave my name unscathed. Burn my face away in the sands that see no sun, in the end. Half a man with less than none in the end.

Turn You In 05:11
I am the one with the chains and shakes in my bones. The rain, in his wrath, casts stones in my path as I make my escape. I’ve staggered for days so I break for a breath by the Lake With No Name, And I wait for the lawman to come with the sound of the drum, And his dumbfounded guns who all know what I’ve done. I’ve returned to a town I once called my own just to watch it burn. I fumbled around in the dirt and the death and I found what’s at stake. It was you. It was you pulling me through. There’s so many more… I want to turn you in to the sun should it show. I’ve been here for so long and I’m told I’ll be cold by the count. I am the one with the face that glows in the black of the night, Embraced by the smoke, so slowly it grows, as fast as it bites. I’ve been shunned, I’ve been shamed, now I’m left to their aim, By the Lake With No Name. It was you. It was you pulling me through. There’s so many more… I want to turn you in… I’ll be cold by the count. I want to turn you in to the sun should it show. I’ve been here for so long and I’m told I’ll be cold by the count.

Stiff and dark between, your stubborn schemes, like a haze, hide your heart. It’s always been ‘the plaintiff and the dearly discarded.’ Baby, brace yourself, there’s no living inside the rift. You better pace yourself, yourself. What if we’re stuck forever? I won’t be chased back to your hold. This has just begun, you’ve run to the peak of a hill we don’t speak of. Baby, brace yourself, there’s no thrill beyond what you’ve done. What if we’re stuck forever? I won’t be chased back to your hold. You check out… What if we’re stuck forever? I won’t be chased back to your hold. What if we’re stuck forever?

You Could 04:11
Oh, you look good, babe, You did all that you could. When the badlands swallowed you whole, And the sands spilled in, You stole his grin, Hands up to the heavens in spite. You could walk me straight off the edge of the world. Oh, you look so good now, baby, You did all that you could. With your tongue in the rain and a sway to succumb to, He shook and he caved, And he took out his eyes for you and begged for his life, On his knees, “baby, please. Baby, please.” You could walk me straight off the edge of the world. So denied, your devil dies. Oh, you look good in the rain. You could walk me straight off the edge of the world.

We passed through the gates of famine and faults, Looked high and kept low, As we followed the cracks in the rolling road, Where the cold kings crowed as we crawled. The saints never said, “Save them.” The stench on the wind drew us out to the edge of the deep blue bliss, Where we’d sleep in the mist, But the waters were red and we coughed up what coins we had left. The saints never said, “Save them.” We were stranded and sick, suffered endless disdain, No luck left to speak of, no life on our lips. The rolling road keeps on going till we’re gone for good. The saints never said, “Save them.” We dove into the depths of delusion and theft, No lights left to lead us away from our deaths. The rolling road keeps on going and going, The rolling road keeps on going till we’re gone for good. The saints never said, “Save them.” Save them.

There’s a man with no face tracing his hand on my baby’s door, No one knows where he’s from, no one knows his name. There were guards at the gates with hounds by their sides, But they let the man through with a wink and a smile, And it’s high time they paid. We ease our way through screams when the sun goes down, We scare ourselves back to sleep when the sun goes down, There’s nothing you can do, There’s nothing you can say, When the devil comes to ruin your life. The mark that he left is the talk of the town, The sound that she made echoes through the dark with each kink in his step, As he walks away he turns to say, “I expect you’ve heard of me, darling. My darling, it’s high time you prayed.” We ease our way through screams when the sun goes down, We scare ourselves back to sleep when the sun goes down, There’s nothing you can do, There’s nothing you can say, When the devil comes to ruin your life. I will stay with you. “Stay with me.”

Old Chills 04:18
I’m coming back to stay, so low, so I swing, Picture me in a place I don’t believe, Oh, I’d love to go back home, But there’s no such thing. With every spill that stains me, I’m shook up, I’m staying down with old chills, I’m staying down in a sea of silver clouds, To leave this place of doubt, I wave back to myself, astray, And I hear a clamor of curses, A death wish that worsens, I feel it stir, the shadow is crawling through, I can’t lose what I can’t see, I can see you. Oh, I’d love to go back home, But there’s no such thing.

Reeds like whips sway with the thunder, Spurring waves to rise to your sides, Feel the hunger, fear the cold, Conjure folds across the skies. Feel the hunger, fear the cold. I’m still in love, stop screaming. You’re never leaving me again. Stones like rain pour with the thunder, Driving flames back to the ash in chains, Feel the hunger, fear the cold, Cross the folds of time and praise. Feel the hunger, fear the cold. I’m still in love, stop screaming. You’re never leaving me again. Feel the hunger, fear the cold, I’m still in love, stop screaming, You’re never leaving me again.
